DOCTOR PLAGIO PRESENTS:

Move Around Baby

Raising Plagiocephaly Awareness

Doctor Plagio, a.k.a, Ricardo Hahn, MD, Past Chair of Family Medicine, and family physician at the University of Southern California, has seen a significant increase of cases of positional plagiocephaly among his infant patients and wants to alert and educate parents on how to prevent it.

Plagiocephaly is a deformation of an infant's head (one-sided flat head) caused by continuous pressure on one part of baby's skull.  For more information, see What is Plagiocephaly?

With help and know-how, parents can prevent, detect and correct Plagiocephaly.

PODCAST Interview (from

SA Stewart Communications)

with "Move Around Baby" - Positional Plagiocephaly Expert Dr. Ricardo Hahn, aka Dr. Plagio.

Ronnie Loaiza is a seasoned and current broadcast news reporter, with experience in Television and Radio.

Why is Dr. Plagio so concerned?

Twenty years ago, only one child out 300 suffered from plagiocephaly.  Today, one out of twenty infants develops the deformity according to the May 2, 2007 report in "Pediatrics," the official Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  Dr. Hahn says that many of his infant patients with plagiocephaly experience development delays, however, there have been no long term scientific studies of the disorder.

Dr. Plagio is on a mission to reduce the incidence of plagiocephaly by educating parents how to position their child to avoid deformity.  For information on Dr. Plagio's preventive techniques, see Preventing Plagiocephaly: TOTS.
